Open Cocker stake Hales Estate 2nd December 2015
Judges Steve Bolton and Lee Cooper had their work cut out after all the dogs had had a first run, none had put a foot wrong and were all still in! At the end of two runs only two dogs had been eliminated, and while the standard was very good, a lot of dogs were on the same marks, so a 5 dog run off was required to finish the trial and sort the awards.
Many thanks to folks that put their hand forward to help out on the day, Jane Burton and Derek Lee for stewarding and game carrying, and Buzz Kennard's partner Dave for doing a great job of red flag carrier.
I think the guns did a great job considering the amount of pressure they were under, and the club is appreciative of their contribution to the trial.
The weather stayed dry just long enough for us to finish and meet in the shooting lodge where an open fire and hospitality provided by our Sharon Harding and Jo the keeper's wife was enjoyed.
The awards were as follows
1st Misselchalke Frantic - Jud Lascelles also best hunting dog. This made up the dog.
