Novice ESS stake, Astley Moss 3rd November 2015
Another brilliant trial at Astley by kind invitation of Gary and Bill Bailey, the weather stayed dry for us and the game was in abundance! The cover was more dense than last year due to the mild weather we have been experiencing, which tested the dogs and handlers alike! It was a great atmosphere at the trial amongst competitors and helpers, and we all enjoyed the day. Our judges Adrian Slater and Andy Kirk called trial over at 12.30! I was thrilled to get a lift back to the cars on a quad! Again our Sharon Harding attended and put on a fine spread for the judges and guns, which we all appreciated. Just one more point worthy of note was the winning dog... handled by David Williams in a relaxed manner, it was magic to watch, the dog hunted with power and pace in some difficult situations that would have been testing in an open stake, and I wasn't alone in my admiration for this dog as the gallery pushed forward hoping to get a glimpse of him at work. The presentations were as follows
1st and Guns Choice Edwardiana Howdee- David Williams
2nd Riprap Jake - Terry Frost
3rd Cherygal Diesel of Drury - David Pope
4th Edwardiana Kerry of Shirescourt- Paul Flaherty
