STAKE 2 OPEN ESS ABBEYSTEAD- 28th October 2016
So after a stressful journey up to Abbeystead (car broke down 😫) like the proverbial swan- the open ESS stake was a fantastic success, and the day was enjoyed by all. The weather was kind to us, and the viewing was good, the ground levelled the playing field for the dogs, and the game, rabbits and pheasants came steadily to hand giving all the dogs a chance to show themselves. The standard of the dogs was excellent, and our judges David Lisett and Jon Bailey split first and second place with a run off.
Our gratitude and appreciation goes to Tony Barrow the head keeper and his team for his tireless effort in providing us with first class trials at Abbeystead. Tony's enthusiasm for spaniels comes across in his warm welcome to the club to the estate and this plays a huge part in the success of the day.
